It took some doing to get the Windows flicker resolved but I did and am fairly happy with the results. Heck, I just made an app to interact with my smart home devices with Xojo. But having to come up with workarounds for flicker, and reimplementing things like collision detection and physics isn’t the best use of its power. The engine to choose depends on your target product, really.
Whether the game is 2D or 3D, which platforms you’d like to target, and whether it needs network capabilities are factors to consider. I’m not here to start recommending competition to Xojo. I just sincerely believe the best way to help in this situation is to remind people that you should always choose the right tool for the job.
